Sighting report from Ellis
Date: 16th or 17th January and 20th January 2007
Location: White Horse Hills and (from) Culham area.
I took a trip to the beautiful, and invigorating, White Horse Hills near Uffington this afternoon (20th January). As I usually do, when I visit these parts, I took the opportunity to visit a dear friend who lives on the outskirts of Wantage. (We had a wonderful experience last year to do with the 'Angel' formation. I wrote it up in an article on my website: here
Anyway, he told me that he's seen something unusual in the night sky a few days previous.
At about 7pm on either Tuesday or Wednesday night (probably Tueday 16th January) he went out to his back garden to look at the stars - something he enjoys doing every night. He saw, to the west (over the White Horse Hills, a boomerang-shaped object. He thought it appeared to be a silvery colour. It had three lights along it - yellow, red, yellow which flashed one after the other in rotating sequence. The object remained stationary for at least two minutes (but it could have been longer). It seemed to be about 1 to 2 miles away, due west. It was about half the height of a plane that flew overhead, at the same time, over to the north. Although it is difficult to ascertain dimensions it looked much bigger than a plane would - 'at least double the size', my friend said. There was no sound. While he was telling me this he took me outside to indicate to me where he had seen the object. As he was telling me I noticed a small white orb-type light dashing in all directions around the vicinity of Venus(?). I called my friend's attention to it and we both observed it for quite a few minutes.
Driving back to my house, at 6.55pm, I had another sighting. At first all I saw was a bright, and quite large pale amber light. (It looked to be over the area where I live - about 2 miles.) Then another similar light blinked on. When it did so I noticed looked to be a long dark grey object stationary at an angle of about 10 to 4. It wasn't very high in the sky. I would say about a third of the height of the air traffic occuring at the same time. The sighting lasted about a minute and then both lights went out.

Mr. KS was watching television in his flat (a high rise tower block) when he saw an object which appeared to be two-dimensional-“like a curvy tear drop shape from the underside” he explained. The object appeared very “thin” almost like cardboard and was very black in colour apart from a single white light at the (underside) front. The Object did not emit or release anything but as he was observing this he said “It appeared as if it was going to hit the corner of the high building then suddenly made an angled /accelerated turn in (one second) and moved away downwards”. The object appeared to be about 2 metres in height and as Mr KS was wearing headphones at the time – so as not to disturb others sleeping at such an early hour he was unable to hear any sound.
The weather conditions were dark and gloomy and overcast, he stated it caught his eye as it came close to the window.

Mrs SQ went out to her refuse bin early evening and as soon as she opened her back door she noticed a large white ball, low down in the sky. It appeared to fade and then become bright again. She called to her husband to come and look and he had no idea what this bright ball could be. He went upstairs and got the camcorder and filmed the ball shaped object. There were 2 children who also witnessed the sighting. She stated that the object did not move in front or behind anything and as it was a clear dry night they had perfect viewing.
They did report this to Midlands today News but were very reluctant to give up their film footage.
Contact did strongly view this case as being a possible Venus sighting.

Journeying from A441 onto the B4090 and travelling towards Feckenham Mrs AW noticed what appeared to be 2 glowing lights in the sky in the general direction of Great Malvern, Worcs., She could see the Malvern hills and the lights appeared between the peaks of the Hills but much closer. Her husband then saw them and they discussed if it was an aircraft coming into land at Birmingham, when Mrs AW noticed that a light was set slightly higher and set further back than the other 2 and was a different colour being a vivid sky blue colour. The other 2 were more orange/red and were almost at the same height. She believed the movement of their vehicle enabled her to see the third light not the fact the lights were moving. Her son in the back also caught a brief glimpse of the lights but due to the hedgerows and trees his vision was obscured. As they travelled they hoped to catch another sighting but unfortunately the shrubbery was too dense.
The edges of the lights were fuzzy (as in a heat haze) but the centres were clearly solid, they just “hung” in the sky with no movement whatsoever. The colours were very clear and bright but somehow as if the colour had been added later. The sky was cloudless and it had been a very hot sunny day.
